Summary
Sujato Five qualities by which a wheel-turning monarch rules justly, and five corresponding qualities by which the Buddha rolls the Wheel of Dhamma.
Buddha taught the five qualities of a wheel-turning monarch, still relevant today for heads of government, who ‘wields power only in a principled manner’, and he taught the dhamma using the same five qualities: (Sujato) He
- knows what is right,
- knows principle,
- knows moderation,
- knows the right time, and
- knows the assembly.
Assembly, perhaps is about knowing which dhamma to teach when, and to whom.
